Personnel from the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) seized a clandestine workshop dedicated to modifying and installing craft armor on high-end vehicles during a security operation conducted on Wednesday, September 23, in rural communities within the municipality of Guasave, Sinaloa.
According to reports from local authority monitoring and official deployment operational records, military elements spotted the facility while executing routine surveillance patrols in the area. The officers noticed several luxury pickup trucks parked outside the structure, which prompted an inspection of the site. Upon examining the interior, military personnel discovered multiple modified vehicles and specialized equipment intended for structural reinforce armor plating.
During the inspection, military forces secured the following items at the location:
- One black "monster-type" truck equipped with artisanal armor plating.
- One "monster-type" vehicle currently in the process of fabrication and armor assembly.
- One recent-model white Ford Lobo pickup truck.
- One recent-model black GMC Sierra pickup truck.
Following the discovery, the federal armed forces secured the perimeter and placed all vehicles, material evidence, and automotive components at the disposal of the competent authorities to integrate the corresponding criminal investigation file. The property itself remains under federal protection while investigation proceedings continue.
This facility joins a series of similar properties recently seized across the state of Sinaloa, which have been identified by security forces as clandestine sites utilized by organized crime groups to modify vehicles with heavy armor plating.
