MAZATLÁN, Sinaloa, Mexico — In a coordinated effort to reinforce public safety and prevent criminal activities across the southern region of Sinaloa, personnel from the Secretaría de Marina carried out two separate security deployments that led to significant material and drug seizures.
The initial deployment took place in the rural community of Isla del Bosque, situated within the municipality of Escuinapa. During routine surveillance patrols, naval units located two abandoned vehicles. Upon inspecting the automobiles, authorities discovered a cache consisting of two firearms, ammunition magazines, useful cartridges, four tactical vests, six ballistic plates, and a protective helmet.
A short time later, a second intervention was executed in the prominent Zona Dorada of Mazatlán, specifically along Gaviotas Avenue. As part of ongoing monitoring efforts under the framework of Operation Sable, maritime security personnel recovered a discarded bag containing 48 individual packets of white powder resembling cocaine, alongside portions of marijuana and illicit pharmaceutical tablets.
Local security experts noted that these proactive patrols remain essential for disrupting illicit logistics networks in coastal corridors. Community representatives expressed cautious optimism regarding the increased naval presence, emphasizing the importance of sustained cooperation between federal forces and local populations.
All recovered armaments, tactical equipment, vehicles, and chemical substances were formally transferred to the jurisdiction of the corresponding Public Prosecutor's Office. Investigative authorities have initiated the official evidence processing and opened the respective legal inquiry folders to determine full accountability.
