The General Prosecution Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) officially executed an arrest warrant targeting an individual identified by the initials R.R.M., who stands as the primary suspect in a qualified homicide case involving a firearm.
The tragic events date back to May 18, 2025, within the municipality of Santa Catarina Loxicha, situated in the coastal region of Oaxaca, Mexico. According to official case files, the victim, identified as J.M.G., was traveling alongside a companion toward the rural community known as Nueva Luz.
Investigators detail that while the victims were crossing near a local riverbed, they were intercepted by the armed suspect. The individual allegedly opened fire on J.M.G., inflicting fatal wounds. Following the attack, the perpetrator reportedly threatened the surviving witness before fleeing the scene toward an undisclosed location.
Through specialized operations managed by the Regional Vice-Prosecution of the Coast, law enforcement gathered sufficient evidence to secure the judicial order. Agents from the State Investigation Agency (AEI) subsequently tracked down and detained R.R.M. near the municipality of Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz.
