CASTRO, CAMPOS GERAIS, PARANA, BRAZIL. Local law enforcement authorities announced the preventive arrest of two individuals, aged 44 and 46, identified as the alleged intellectual masterminds behind a violent home invasion targeting an 81-year-old senior citizen earlier this July.
According to the official investigation conducted by the Civil Police, the suspects possessed extensive criminal backgrounds and meticulously planned the assault after gathering intelligence that the victim kept cash inside his residence located in Castro, within the state of Parana.
The physical perpetrator, who was apprehended shortly after the initial incident in nearby Ponta Grossa following surveillance footage tracking, had forcibly entered the elderly man's bedroom while he slept. Armed with a knife, the intruder threatened the victim, falsely claimed that his son had been kidnapped, and demanded money before escaping with approximately R$ 5,000.
Following comprehensive investigative procedures and intelligence coordination, authorities executed the arrest warrants for the suspected planners during a targeted operation supported by specialized tactical units, including the ROTAM tactical response team.
