A Brazilian volunteer serving with the Ukrainian armed forces filmed the moment a Russian missile struck the apartment building where he was sheltered in Kharkiv.

A Brazilian volunteer soldier serving alongside the Ukrainian army recorded first-hand video footage of the precise moment a Russian missile struck the residential building in which he was stationed in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The volunteer, identified as Lucas Candido, started filming shortly after air raid warning sirens began sounding across the city. Just seconds into the recording, the distinctive sound of an incoming projectile was heard, immediately followed by a powerful explosion inside the apartment structure.

Despite the violent impact caught on camera, Candido and four other Brazilian citizens who were inside the facility managed to survive the attack. According to reports shared by Brazilian journalist Renato Souza, all five individuals escaped with either minor physical injuries or no serious harm before being relocated to a safer position.

The recording provides direct visual evidence of the immediate dangers faced by foreign combatants operating in regional combat zones.

The incident coincides with broader Russian military strikes against residential zones in Kharkiv, operations that have routinely caused civilian casualties and infrastructure damage across eastern Ukraine. Brazil has previously documented multiple casualties and missing person cases involving its nationals who traveled to serve as international volunteers during the ongoing military conflict.
