Federal forces executed a search warrant in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, discovering a clandestine store distributing marijuana-infused candies, chocolates, and thousands of illegal cigarettes.

Federal forces discovered a clandestine store operating as a distribution point for marijuana-infused products during an October 1 raid in the Real del Valle neighborhood of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, according to official reports.

The operation was carried out by elements of the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía General de la República), with support from the Special Operations Group (GOES) of the state police, as reported by the Secretariat of Public Security of Sinaloa.

Inside the property, authorities registered significant quantities of narcotics disguised as everyday consumer goods. The confiscated inventory included:

  • 1,250 bags of potato chips containing marijuana
  • 330 bags of marijuana-laced candies
  • 460 chocolate bars adulterated with drugs
  • 35,726 marijuana cigarettes in various formats
  • 300 electronic vaping chargers
  • 4 firearm magazines and 80 useful cartridges

The III Military Region and the 9th Military Zone reported the asset seizures two days after the operation concluded. The property remains under official guard while forensic investigations proceed, and the seized items were transferred to the Attorney General's Office headquarters in Mazatlan.

The intervention occurred alongside broader security actions across Sinaloa. On the same day in Culiacan, military personnel intercepted a shipment of 1,320 kilograms of methamphetamine linked to the "Los Mayos" faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, with an estimated economic value exceeding 350 million pesos. Additionally, days prior to the Real del Valle raid, the Secretariat of National Defense deployed 100 Special Forces troops to reinforce security in the port municipality under the 9th Military Zone command.
