Investigators from the División Especializada en Investigación Criminal (DEIC) of the Policía Nacional Civil, supported by elements of the Guatemalan Army and Special Police Forces (F.E.P.), carried out a targeted operation on September 29, 2026, in the municipality of Villa Canales, Guatemala.
The raid took place at a residential property located in Callejón Los Carrascas, Santa Marta I, within the village of El Jocotillo. Law enforcement personnel executed the search warrant following the circulation of viral video material on social media platforms, in which an individual was seen displaying a handgun and uttering death threats against local residents.
The detained individual was identified by authorities as 35-year-old Fernando "N", known by the alias "Lagrimita". According to official records, an outstanding arrest warrant had already been issued against him by a Guatemalan court for domestic violence involving physical harm in a private setting.
During the execution of the raid, police officers encountered physical resistance from the suspect before placing him under custody. Officers secured the scene and processed the evidence found on the premises.
The items seized by the Policía Nacional Civil during the intervention included:
- 1 Glock brand handgun possessed without legal authorization
- 4 ammunition magazines (tolvas)
- 43 live rounds of ammunition
Following his arrest, Fernando "N" was transferred to judicial authorities to address the existing warrant for violence against women, as well as new charges related to the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. The legal proceedings remain in their initial stage as local judicial authorities review the case file.
